Supervisor,
Field Engineering
South Jersey Gas located in Folsom, New Jersey
(between Philadelphia & Atlantic
City) has an immediate opportunity to join its New Business/Compliance
Design department in this newly created position.
In this NEWLY CREATED position you will evaluate and approve specifications,
construction procedures and cost estimates for gas distribution mains,
service lines, meter/regulator stations for residential and commercial
customers; provide technical support for System Integrity, Operations
and Distributions departments; conduct analyses on system gas loads;
act as Project Manager on various pipeline and meter/regulator station
projects.
Qualifications: BS in Engineering (Associates
degree in a science related field and relevant work related experience
may be substituted for the Engineering degree); minimum 5 – 7
years progressive experience in Engineering or Gas Distribution/Transmission
Operations is crucial; working knowledge of natural gas industrial/commercial
operations; project management skills, prior supervisory experience,
excellent computer skills and the ability to work with outside vendors,
agencies and organizations is essential!

Supervisor, Street Operations
South Jersey Gas Company is looking for a dynamic person to join
its Distribution Operations department as a Supervisor in the Cape
May (Swainton) Office.
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that work
performed by Street Crews or Utility Service Crews as well as contractors
is completed in a safe, efficient, and economical manner while complying
company policies and procedures as well as all state and federal
regulations. You will oversee the day-to-day management for Crew
personnel which includes but is not limited to: coordination and
supervision of construction and maintenance activities; supervision
of emergency first responders and meter sets; compliance activities;
the daily preparation of work and stand-by schedules; fostering relationships
with municipalities and local government agencies. Additionally,
you will assist in the preparation of the annual operating and construction
budgets.
All candidates must be available for “standby” duties
and emergency responses.
Qualifications include: BA preferably in Engineering related field;
formal technical training in the construction, operations and maintenance
management fields is also highly recommended; minimum 5 years related
supervisory experience in a unionized environment within the gas/utility
industry; prior experience and/or training in natural gas distribution
systems from transmission stations to customer’s service, including
large complex meter and regulator sets. Proven leadership skills
while working in a fast-paced environment, the ability to lead in
emergency situations, decisive decision making abilities, and strong
conflict resolution skills are essential for success in this position.

Field Sales Representative
South Jersey Gas in Folsom, New Jersey (located between Philadelphia
and Atlantic City) is looking for a dynamic sales person to
join its team in this extremely vital role!
As a Residential Field Sales Representative you will be responsible
for increasing natural gas sales through the generation of
new customers as well as increasing and retaining usage with
existing customers.
You will target natural gas sales
for residential appliances, pool, fireplaces, patio heaters,
etc. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining
a referral network to include mechanical equipment and home
building contractors, appliance retailers, real estate professionals,
organizations and homeowners.
Candidates should possess: HS Diploma or GED is required (college
education is highly desirable); knowledge of HVAC equipment,
design, installation, piping and venting distribution is required;
knowledge of and the ability to perform and analyze home energy
surveys is strongly recommended; minimum 3 – 10 years experience
selling technical products with an emphasis on HVAC and energy
products; proven sales ability is required; excellent communication
and computer skills are a must.

Corrosion
Surveyor

looking for TWO talented individuals to join our team.
As the Corrosion Surveyor
you would perform annual cathodic protection surveys and
monitoring of the Company’s
underground steel facilities and corrosion control devices
in accordance with all application state and federal regulations.
In addition, you would inspect contractors’ work, inspect
system rectifiers, maintain map plates and records.
Candidates should
possess: HS Diploma or GED is required. An Associates Degree
in Engineering Technology or a related technical field
or electrical training from an accredited vocational or
technical school is preferred.; excellent communication & interpersonal
skills; the ability to work independently with limited general
supervision; basic knowledge of electricity and/or electrochemistry
(Ohm’s Law, AC/DC electrical fundamentals, etc) is

Database
Administrator
SJI Services, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries, in

has an immediate opportunity for a talented Database Administrator
to join its Network Services team. This full-time exempt position
is responsible for assisting the supervisor in delivering database
support to the corporation.
This is not a network administrator position.
Only candidates who have direct and demonstrable Microsoft
SQL 2005 database administrator experience will be considered.
The incumbent is expected to have the following:
• Responsible for installation,
maintenance, and technical support of SQL 2000 or greater,
database system(s) and other related vendor products.
• Responsible for problem resolution,
database configuration, capacity planning, performance tuning,
and day to day database operations.
• Assist in the selection of new
database systems including design/redesign/creation/integration,
feasibility studies, impact analysis, design and implementation
of one or two way automated data conversion functions, data
loading, and reduction of redundant data.
• Performs feasibility studies
and cost estimates in response to user requests.
• Administers the technical design,
testing, and implementation of all databases.
• Ensures test procedures are defined,
documented, and implemented for new databases. Ensures backup
procedures are defined, documented, and implemented for full
database recoveries.
Immediate consideration will be given to candidates who possess:
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three direct and
demonstrable years of experience in database administration – either
SQL 2000 OR GREATER ONLY; or any equivalent combination of
education and experience which would provide the following
knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Relevant experience must be in
Database support or Business application development using
a database management system.
• A demonstrated knowledge of Data
Modeling and Data Normalization techniques.
• Ability to accept high level
assignments and work with limited supervision and guidance.

Engineer

is looking for a natural gas Engineer to join its team.
As the Senior
Engineer you will act as Project leader for engineering initiatives
as well as: preparation of plans/specifications and cost
estimates for major gas transmission and distribution pipeline,
meter/regulator station system improvements and for major/commercial
loads; recommend system modifications/improvements; evaluating
main extension capacity and compliance; inspect transmission
system construction and obtain right-of-way as needed; supervise
preparation and maintenance of engineering drawing, maps
and records.
Qualifications:
PE License; BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil is strongly
recommended) ; 10+ years related experience; 3+ years of
construction project management experience; 2+ years experience
in a natural gas/pipeline industry; familiarity with USDOT
Part 192; PC computer skills.
