Network Administrator

SJI Services, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries, located in Folsom, NJ, has an immediate opportunity for a talented network administrator to join its IT team.  This full-time exempt position is responsible for assisting the supervisor in delivering network infrastructure technology support to the corporation.

The incumbent is expected to have the following:

• Demonstrable ability to administer Windows 2003 Active Directory and Security and Group Policy, manage Exchange Server 2007, coordinate enterprise backup solution with Symantec Backup Exec, troubleshoot and support server hardware and server-side software packages.
• Demonstrable knowledge of network infrastructure devices.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve network desktop and server performance, reliability, and quality through the implementation of recommended technologies or systems.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple related projects, including troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of the enterprise in a team environment.
• Ability to provide customer-focused technical support to the help desk and clients as needed.
• Ability to maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, trouble tickets, network configurations, hardware/software inventory, and audit requests.

Immediate consideration will be given to candidates who possess:

• Minimum of FIVE years of demonstrable experience in a multi-site Active    Directory environment with over 50 servers.
• A four-year degree in Business or Computer Science (relevant work experience can be used in lieu of the education requirement).
• Current Microsoft Certification required, Cisco Certification a plus.
• VoIP experience a plus.

Staff Accountant

Rate Analyst

In this role you will assist with the analysis, design and development of the Company’s natural gas rates and rate schedules which are filed with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU).  You will also assist with the following: preparation of rate filings, including the preparation of testimony and exhibits; design and administration of tariff schedules; development of analyses related to determining corporate marketing objectives in the areas of rates and rate design; preparation of reports and economic studies; analysis of market trends, energy pricing and regulatory activities; and computing/compiling data and statistical analysis for senior management.

Standards Engineer

South Jersey Gas Company located in Folsom, Atlantic County (between Philadelphia and Atlantic City) is looking for an Engineer with natural gas background to join its growing Engineering team.

As the Standards Engineer you will have responsibility developing, revising and implementing company-wide standards for materials, methods, equipment and tools, design for construction, operation and maintenance of gas distribution, transmission and production facilities. 

Additional responsibilities include: assure Standards are current with all state, local and federal requirements; interaction with contractors and end users to assure relevant knowledge and necessary skills are communicated; supervise preparation and maintenance of engineering drawings, maps and records; participation in related company or industry committees.

Qualified candidates should possess:  Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; minimum 10 years work related experience; minimum 5 years natural gas industry, construction and operations background; demonstrated familiarity with CFR 49 Part 192, related API and ASME codes; skillful in technical writing and presentation; NJPE License (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire);PC computer skills and, understanding of NJBPU regulations (highly desirable).

Manager, Gas Procurement

South Jersey Energy Solutions (SJES), a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries, is a premier comprehensive provider of efficient, powerful solutions to today’s energy needs. 

South Jersey Energy (SJE), a subsidiary of SJES has a current opening for a Manager – Gas Procurement in our Mays Landing, NJ location.

This position is responsible for gas scheduling, plans and performs energy purchasing for retail gas markets and evaluates the profitability of entering into potential new markets.    

The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the natural gas industry with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory related experience, including:

  • Purchasing natural gas at best price for retail customers and/or markets. 
  • Ensuring delivery of gas supply to appropriate city gates and pipelines. 
  • Measures and remedies imbalances per compliance with utility tariff at best price. 
  • Optimizes natural gas portfolio using acquired industry expertise. 
  • Evaluate the profitability of entering into new market areas taking into consideration all probable risks related to serving natural gas load behind targeted city gate.
  • Preparing detailed month end accrual calculations and reports. 
  • Determining near-month delivery requirements by pipeline. 
  • Preparing market risk calculations

In addition, qualified candidates require the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, engineering or business related field.  MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical, accounting, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex natural gas tariffs.
  • Knowledge of automated systems relevant to markets and gas supply (i.e., Ability to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint at expert level.  Must be able to use utility systems as they relate to natural gas scheduling and delivery.  Knowledge of Mark-to-Market calculations as they relate to natural gas industry.)
