SJI Commits $100,000 to Aid New Jersey Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

Contributions to support the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund and local hospitals

FOLSOM, NJ, April 1, 2020 – SJI (NYSE: SJI) announced today that it is committing $100,000 to support COVID-19 pandemic response efforts across the state.

“We recognize the extraordinary needs facing our medical and first responder communities as a result of this global pandemic,” said Mike Renna, President and CEO, SJI. “We are proud to be able to make a contribution that directly supports the life-saving work being done in the communities we serve as we face this unprecedented pandemic together.”

The contribution includes a $50,000 donation to the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, established by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s wife, first lady Tammy Murphy. These funds will directly go towards fighting the medical, social and economic impacts of COVID-19 on New Jersey’s most vulnerable, supporting organizations that provide essential services and aiding those on the front line of the pandemic.

The commitment also includes $25,000 donations to the AtlantiCare Foundation and Trinitas Regional Medical Center. Both organizations are centrally located within the communities SJI serves through its regulated gas utility subsidiaries, South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas.
