FOLSOM, N.J. -- Charles Biscieglia, chairman, president and CEO of South Jersey Industries, (NYSE: SJI) the energy holding company for South Jersey Gas, announced today that Richard H. Walker, Jr. was elected corporate secretary and corporate counsel for South Jersey Industries and South Jersey Gas.
In this position, Walker will oversee
corporate records administration, shareholder services for SJI and its subsidiaries,
internal auditing as well as environmental affairs. In addition, he will provide
corporate counsel to all subsidiaries. He will report directly to Biscieglia.
“Rick is a tremendous asset to our company,” said Biscieglia. “In
his 23 years of service, he has shown that his level of expertise and commitment
are unsurpassed”.
Walker, formerly assistant secretary
for both SJI and SJG, joined the company in 1979. He is a graduate of Lehigh
University and the Rutgers University School of Law. He and his wife Millicent
live in Hammonton, New Jersey with their three children.

of Directors re-elected each of the following corporate officers for one year
terms: Charles Biscieglia, chairman, president & chief executive officer;
Edward Graham, executive vice president & chief operating officer; George
Baulig, vice president; Dave Kindlick, vice president, treasurer & chief
financial officer; Albert Ruggiero, vice president; Michael Renna, assistant
vice president, Jane F. Kelly Esq., assistant corporate secretary and assistant
counsel.
