FOLSOM, N.J. -- Marina Energy, LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of South Jersey Industries [NYSE: SJI] and Resorts International, Inc., which operates Resorts International Hotel casino in Atlantic City, NJ, announced today that they have reached an agreement for Marina to provide all of the heating, cooling, and customer comfort systems at the Atlantic City hotel. Under the terms of the 20- year agreement, Marina will immediately begin operating the steam and chilled water production facilities at Resorts. It will replace and improve the production facilities and equipment at the site in order to provide the most efficient operating conditions. Our comprehensive approach to energy management coupled with our expertise and reputation put SJI in a unique position to assist Resorts, stated Charles Biscieglia, chairman, president and CEO of the Folsom based energy holding company. Marina is currently involved in the construction portion of the project, replacing equipment, improving the control systems and the thermal distribution delivery system. The company will operate the production facilities for 20 years in partnership with DCO Energy. DCO Energy based in W. Atlantic City, NJ is a developer and operator of thermal and generating facilities. Marina will supply 5,000 tons of chilled water capacity and approximately 102,000 lbs/hr of steam capacity in the initial phase of the agreement. That capacity may increase with the construction of the new Resorts hotel tower.
