Biscieglia To Be Honored by Boy Scouts of America
SJI Chairman To Receive Distinguished Citizens Award at November 12th Fundraising

FOLSOM, N.J. -- The Southern New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America has selected Charles Biscieglia, Chairman, Director and CEO of South Jersey Industries, as this year's recipient of the prestigious Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen Award in Southern New Jersey. The BSA will present the award to Biscieglia at its November 12th fundraising dinner and reception at the Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees. The dinner, which the BSA uses as a fundraiser to support character education programs for over 15,000 youth, has become an annual tradition in South Jersey.
According to Dinner Chairman Ira Megdal, Esq. Biscieglia is a most deserving recipient. "Charles Biscieglia truly fits the mold of a worthy individual who has helped make our communities a better place to live and work. He is deeply committed to community service and is very deserving of this year's award, "said Megdal. Most recently, Biscieglia received the Distinguished Service Award from the New Jersey Utilities Association honoring special individuals who have made positive and significant contributions to the state. He is chairman of the American Heart Association's 2004 HeartWalk. Past Distinguished Citizens include Debra DiLorenzo, Rear Admiral Thomas Seigenthaler (Retired) and William and Linda Rohrer.

this distinguished award," said Biscieglia. "The benefits derived
from scouting by young people cannot be measured in business terms like dollar
and cents but rather in human terms by the number of successful young men it
produces. The support of this event by the business community is crucial to
the sustainability of this organization that has made a difference to so many
people in Southern New Jersey."
