Gas recently received the 2009 ENERGY STAR Leadership in
Housing Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
This award recognizes SJG’s work in promoting
energy efficient construction and helping to protect the
environment through its partnership with ENERGY STAR.

to receive this recognition of our efforts to promote energy

According to the EPA, nearly 940,000 ENERGY STAR-qualified
homes have been built to date, 100,000 of which were constructed
in 2008 alone. In the last year, as a result of the efforts
of companies like SJG and ENERGY STAR, Americans saved $19
billion on their utility bills and avoided greenhouse gas
emissions equivalent to those of 29 million vehicles.
