NJBPU Approves Rate Changes for SJG

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities today announced that it has approved changes to South Jersey Gas’ rates that will produce a 3.4 percent decrease in customers’ natural gas bills. This reduction resulted from a collaborative effort among SJG, BPU staff and the Division of Rate Counsel.

SJG CONSERVATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM EXTENSION APPROVED BY NJBPU

South Jersey Gas received approval today from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to extend its Conservation Incentive Program for up to four years.  The CIP is designed to encourage conservation while protecting the company from the financial impact of lost sales.

SJG SEEKS BASE RATE INCREASE

Citing the need to recover costs for $466 million of necessary infrastructure investments that will have been spent from February 2004 to the end of 2010, as well as increased health care and pension costs, South Jersey Gas announced today that it petitioned the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for a base rate increase.
