South Jersey Gas to Host First Energy Assistance Expo in Pleasantville

FOLSOM, NJ, Feb.14, 2019 – South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of SJI (NYSE:SJI), is hosting the first City of Pleasantville Energy Expo, Feb. 15, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pleasantville Library Branch located on 33 Martin Luther King Avenue. The event is designed to connect customers in need with energy assistance resources to manage their utility bills and includes representatives from South Jersey Gas, Atlantic City Electric, PosiGen Solar, Veterans Administration, Horizon NJ Health, WellCare, NJ SHARES.
“We are excited to host our first Energy Assistance Expo in Pleasantville,” said Tammy Molino, Director, Customer Experience. “The South Jersey Gas Energy Assistance team has had great success hosting and participating in Energy Assistance Expos in a number of local communities, and we are happy to share this incredible opportunity with the residents of Atlantic County, as we partner across industries to bring critical resources to the local community.”
Since the South Jersey Gas Energy Assistance Team formed in 2017, they have conducted more than 100 energy assistance outreach events across the South Jersey Gas service area, via one-stop offices, libraries and nonprofit agencies, helping customers identify programs that meet their individual needs and assisting them with the program application process. As a result of their efforts, South Jersey Gas has seen an increase in the number of customers enrolled in energy assistance programs, with 36,220 customers enrolled in 2018.
