Stockton University, Hispanic Association of Atlantic County Recognize SJG Employee For Commitment to Latinx/Hispanic Community

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ November 29, 2021 – South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries (NYSE:SJI), is pleased to announce that David Vinokurov, Customer Outreach Specialist, South Jersey Gas, was recently named the recipient of the Nuestro Amigo/a Award by Stockton University’s Unidos organization and the Hispanic Association of Atlantic County. The award was presented at the third annual Nuestro Pueblo Award ceremony last month at Stockton University’s Atlantic City campus.
The Nuestro Pueblo Awards, with nuestro pueblo translating to “our community,” recognizes individuals and organizations making a difference in the Latinx/Hispanic community through community involvement and social advocacy. Vinokurov received the Nuestro Amigo/a, or “our friend,” award for his continual work in assisting and educating customers about South Jersey Gas’ utility assistance programs.

In response to the economic challenges posed by the pandemic onto utility customers, particularly customers from diverse backgrounds, South Jersey Gas customer service teams have continued to encourage customers to take full advantage of available energy assistance programs.
