NJBPU APPROVES 1.1 PERCENT RATE DECREASE FOR SOUTH JERSEY GAS

Folsom, NJ - South Jersey Gas today received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to decrease its Basic Gas Supply Service rate by $.035 per therm. SJG also had six other cases approved today by the BPU, which all had implications on the company’s gas costs.

NJBPU APPROVES BGSS INCREASE FOR SOUTH JERSEY GAS

Folsom, NJ - South Jersey Gas today received approval from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for an increase to its Basic Gas Supply Service rate. The BGSS clause serves as a method to pass along increases and decreases in wholesale gas costs to customers. As South Jersey Gas makes no profit on the sale of the natural gas commodity itself, it likewise will make no profit from this rate adjustment.

SJG ELECTS NEW DIRECTOR

Folsom, NJ - Edward J. Graham, chairman, president and CEO of South Jersey Industries (NYSE:SJI), announced that the board of directors of SJI’s primary subsidiary, South Jersey Gas, voted to amend the company’s bylaws to increase the board size from 5 to 6 members at its April 18 meeting. The members then elected Thomas A. Bracken to SJG’s board. Bracken continues to serve on SJI’s board of directors, a position he has held since 2004.
