South Jersey Gas and Partners to Provide On-Site Energy Assistance in Gloucester County
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ, February 13, 2026 – South Jersey Gas, in collaboration with Atlantic City Electric and the United Way of Gloucester County, will host an energy assistance enrollment event at the Glassboro Public Library on March 16 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eligible residents can receive direct support in enrolling for the state-funded programs, LIHEAP, USF and SHARES, which are designed to help reduce utility costs and ensure continuous service.
The United Way of Gloucester County was founded in 1957 with a mission “to be the leader in building community capacity to foster individual well-being.” Since then, the organization has driven philanthropic giving in the county and raised nearly $100 million to support organizations that serve our most vulnerable neighbors in Gloucester County.
“With the cost of living continuing to rise and the extremes we’ve seen in our weather, many of our neighbors are falling further and further behind,” said Dr. Dan Jurman, Executive Director of the United Way of Gloucester County, “That's why we’re so pleased to work with great partners like South Jersey Gas, Atlantic City Electric, and the Glassboro Public Library to give people the opportunity to get the help they need.”
“We work to provide financial assistance information to eligible households so they can secure the financial relief they need to keep their homes safe, warm, and affordable,” said Christina Teel, Senior Customer Outreach Specialist, SJI.
Residents applying for assistance are asked to bring copies of the following documents:
- Copy of lease or mortgage
