First Responders Grant Program

Each year, our subsidiaries South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas provide critical support to first responder departments to assist in the purchase of new equipment, technology and maintaining operations.

South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas’s annual Game On Grant Program provides 20, $1000 grants in support of local, community-centered athletic leagues and recreational organizations for children.

Diverse Supplier Program

One of the cornerstones of SJI’s continued success is linked to our ability to grow with our suppliers. We believe that building a more diverse supplier base will support our commitment to the growth and economic advancement of the communities in which we do business. As part of the SJI Diverse Supplier Program, our subsidiaries, South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas expand and build upon relationships with Diverse Suppliers to support our corporate values and foster an inclusive procurement process to provide opportunities for diverse businesses.

Educational and Vocational Career Development

SJI is committed to providing financial support and educational resources to the next generation of energy professionals. SJI regularly provides scholarships in partnership with the following organizations: New Jersey Utilities Association, Atlantic Cape Community College, Rowan University, Stockton University, Union County College, Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Salem County Vocational Technical Schools and Sussex County Community College.

Education & Vocational Career Development
 

In addition to SJI’s corporate giving, Elizabethtown Gas and South Jersey Gas support students and educational initiatives within their own respective service territories. Elizabethtown Gas’s Fueling the Future Scholarship at Union County College supports ten students pursuing a career in STEM each year. In addition, South Jersey Gas hosted the Mark Cuban Foundation Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp at its headquarters in 2021, enabling 20 local high school students to learn about AI and machine learning topics.
 

Environmental Stewardship

Energy Efficiency Program

Our utilities are dedicated to involving and engaging customers in our efforts to protect the environment and sustain our natural resources. Since 2009, South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas, combined, have invested more than $133 million in energy efficiency programs.
