Employee Volunteerism
At SJI, we pride ourselves on being a committed community partner, assisting local, regional and statewide organizations that deliver support to those in need, providing funding and contributing many volunteer hours to programs that benefit the communities we serve. In fact, SJI and its subsidiaries, South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas, contribute $1 million in charitable giving and community support annually.
First Responders Grant Program
Each year, our subsidiaries South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas support safety training and lifesaving efforts conducted by local fire, police and EMS first responders. These grants are used by first responders to support necessary purchases including combustible gas detectors, turn out gear, fire hoses, medical supplies and other equipment.

"Game On" Grant Program
For over ten years, the Game On Grant Program has provided support to sustain local, community-centered youth sports programs (leagues, clubs, and recreational organizations) in the South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas service areas. We’re proud to partner with these organizations and support them in their missions to provide safe, fun activities for kids in our region.

SJI regularly provides scholarships in partnership with the following organizations: New Jersey Utilities Association, Atlantic Cape Community College, Rowan University, Stockton University, Union County College, Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Salem County Vocational Technical Schools and Sussex County Community College.
