SJI Launches HOLA Employee Resource Group, Volunteers at Food and Clothing Service Center
FOLSOM, NJ, September 15, 2025 – In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, SJI is excited to announce the formation of Hispanic Organization for Latino Achievement, or HOLA, SJI’s new Employee Resource Group.
HOLA aims to provide a platform for broadening and deepening understanding of Hispanic and Latinx culture and promote inclusion and belonging within our communities. HOLA is available for all employees to join.
“I am honored to serve as executive sponsor for HOLA,” said Diana P. Donnelly, Senior Director, Customer Experience, SJIU. “This group gives us the opportunity to share the values and achievements of our Hispanic and Latinx employees and celebrate and embrace the richness of these cultures.”
One of HOLA’s first events was held at the St. Joseph Social Service Center, where volunteers made more than 1,000 sandwiches at the 12th Annual “Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation” Sandwich Drive. Elizabethtown Gas, a subsidiary of SJI, was a sponsor of the event, which takes place every summer in partnership with Assemblywoman Annette Quijano to help those facing food insecurity and homelessness. Since 1983, St. Joseph’s has served Greater Elizabeth, New Jersey, by providing basic human needs such as food, clothing and medications, as well as a wide range of services and programs.
At SJI, we strive to build a culture of inclusion and belonging where all individuals feel respected and supported. Later this month, SJI will be hosting its third annual Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Summit, underscoring our dedication to fostering a community, promoting awareness through education, and aligning our inclusion efforts with business goals.
